Amy Henson is a wonderful woman that made my wedding cake last year and she had someone call for a cake this weekend but she was unable to do it. It was an honor for her to ask me to do that because she is so amazing at what she does! The challenge for this week was that a boy wanted the cardinal stadium field for his 10th birthday. What a challenge but a joy to have in my house with a husband who is a huge Kentucky fan. Eric's words about the cake were, "I love it cause it looks awesome, but I hate it at the same time."

Thank you Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Brown is a mother of one of my friends from church, Jill Brown. Mrs. Brown has been wonderful advertisement for my cakes and an amazing encourager. After my first cupcakes that I made for her, she left me the most encouraging voice mail about my decorating. The message is saved on my voice mail for me to listen to whenever I would like. This week Mrs. Brown called with a reference from another one of her friends for some cupcakes again. These are what came from her request...

Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Jacqueline is a woman that works with Eric and asked if I would make a cake for her son's second birthday this weekend. After listening to the things that Mason enjoyed I thought that the best way to create a cake for him would be to make a planes, trains and automobiles cake for him. It only seemed appropriate for his interests.

Accounting Roses
My mom works in an accounting department and they celebrate birthdays by month. All of the birthdays in August were celebrated on the same day. One of the wonderful women asked if I would make a birthday cake for the 3 women celebrating a birthday this month and I was honored to be a part of their celebration!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Doug
My aunt Katie asked me to make a cake for my uncle Doug for his birthday this week but he really likes chocolate! This brought on a new challenge of making chocolate buttercream icing to put on his cake. Eric really liked the chocolate icing, hopefully uncle Doug will enjoy it just as much!!

Mickey Mouse...Pretty In Pink
My wonderful cousin has been a wonderful help in advertising for me to some of her friends!! A good friend of hers called me to do two cakes for her daughters first birthday party. They were going to be having a Mickey Mouse party and wanted a Mickey Mouse cake. Along with the Mickey Mouse cake she wanted an additional single cake for the daughter to eat. She wanted something Pink for the daughter but wanted a carved Mickey Mouse head. I was excited to do a Mickey cake and thrilled to see how it would turn out. After the finished product, I am pleased with how it turned out.

Something Blue
I received a call from a mother of one of Erics good friends to do a cake for a bridal shower that she is having. Sherry seemed to wonder if it was to last minute until Chaz stepped in and got Sherry to give me a call about it. Chaz was over at our apartment the night that I made the Schreiners wedding cake and he was able to watch me make the cake in action. Because he had seen me working on one the night before he assumed that making a smaller cake in a short amount of time would not be an issue. Thanks Chaz for getting me to make another cake!! Now I know who to call to publicize for me!
